I'm a long time EPA-SWMM (Storm Water Management Model) user but every time I get a chance to work with the program I find myself a bit lost thinking 'what was the best way to go about xxx?'. This time I was trying to create a timeseries of inflow data and I forgot how to copy and paste my data from Excel to SWMM.
SWMM doesn't allow you to directly copy data from Excel and paste them in the timeseries editor. I recommend you to work in the Excel and copy the data into Notepad and then save it as .dat file. When you save the Notepad file, choose "All Files" under "Save as type" drop down menu. Then name the file as you want "with" .dat extension at the end.
Now you can link this .dat file from SWMM timeseries editor by checking "Use external data file names below" and navigating to the file.
